HOW TO ENTER THE HOSTEL
The access door to the Hostel Bulwark has an electronic opening system. To open it is necessary a 4 digit PIN that the guest receives after his reservation and press on the letter A. This PIN is valid from 3:00 pm on the check-in date and 11:00 am on the check-out date.

WHAT MAKES US STAND OUT?
Bulwark combines hundreds of years of history with a peculiar and colorful interior in the Fortress of Valença do Minho. Located in Coroada, the hostel is truly unique! We offer clean and modern facilities, with a kitchen, a winery, internet, TV room, interactive games and laundry!
The entrance is available 24/7. We advise our guests to reduce the noise from 11 pm, however to enter the hostel, you just need your PIN. Remember not to share it, safety first!
Our hostel seeks a family environment that allows all guests a comfortable and comforting stay.
DO WE HAVE ANY GAS EQUIPMENT?
The design of Hostel Bulwark took into account the use of natural materials and environmental aspects to achieve greater energy efficiency, including climatisation with a combined solution of VMCDF PANOL heat pump and DAIKIN FTX air conditioning.
Our Hostel is proud to be 100% gas free.
WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
PayPal, Bank Transfer, Credit Card and Cash
CAN I CANCEL THE RESERVATION?
Only reservations cancelled up to 72 hours before the Check-In date will be refunded. In case of cancellation afterwards or no-show, you will be charged 100% of the first night.
After confirmation of payment, the reservation is validated by issuing an entry PIN. Upon cancellation the PIN will be cancelled.
I DIDN'T GET THE ENTRANCE PIN. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Don’t worry! First of all check the SPAM folder of your e-mail, if you can’t find any e-mail with the PIN, contact us directly through the number (+351) 251 837 022 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just give us your full name, reservation number and date of arrival.
CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION DIRECTLY AT THE HOSTEL?
Yes, in addition to reservations made online, the guest can also make a reservation on arrival at the Hostel, however, we warn you that it will be subject to availability.
ATTENTION: All group reservations must be made in advance, only then we can guarantee the availability of space for the desired dates.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Bulwark offers you stay with access to common areas and general services.
There are two shared bedrooms on each floor (ground floor and second floor). Two complete WC with two showers and two toilets. Read more.
GRATUITIES include: Bed linen, Towel, Slippers, Locker with key, Internet and Energizer from 7.30 to 9.30.
And access to the Social Area, Winery & Kitchen.

HOW LONG CAN I STAY AT THE HOSTEL?
There is no limitation as to how long they can stay, however it is subject to availability.
I'M NOT A PILGRIM. IS MY RESERVATION ACCEPTED?
Sure. We will be happy to welcome you! Bulwark is intended to create a meeting point for guests from all over the world, regardless of the individual experience each one experiences.
HOW CAN I CONTACT THE HOSTEL?

WE TRAVEL IN A GROUP AND WE WANT TO BE TOGETHER. IS IT POSSIBLE?
For your guests’ convenience, you can reserve a bed or a set of beds that are on the same floor as the members of your group. One of the biggest advantages of Hostel Bulwark is the possibility to choose the bed you want to sleep and ensure that those who accompany you are always close to you.

I TRAVEL WITH CHILDREN. IS THERE ANY SPECIAL CONDITION FOR ME?
Bulwark does not have any type of dormitory adapted for families with children.
In order to guarantee the normal functioning of the Hostel, we only accept reservations from 16 years of age, however they must be accompanied by an adult.
CAN I GET IN AND OUT OF THE HOSTEL AT ANY TIME?
The PIN will be valid between Check-In at 3:00 pm and Check-Out at 11:00 am the following day. It will cease to be valid at the end of that period.
If you need to leave and re-enter the Hostel, there is no limitation, however we urge you not to disturb the rest of the guests between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.
I TRAVEL BY CAR. WHERE CAN I PARK IT?

CAN I LEAVE MY BELONGINGS IN THE ROOM?
Each guest is responsible for his/her belongings, it is always advisable to keep his/her belongings in his/her locker.
ATENTION: Under Decree-Law no. 228/2009 of 14/07, the Hostel will not be responsible for money, jewellery or other valuables that may disappear within its facilities (Terms and Conditions).
CAN I PUT FOOD IN THE FRIDGE?
Yes. Each guest must mark it as his/her property.
ATENTION: We are not responsible for forgotten food. When the stay is over, they will be considered garbage.
IS IT NECESSARY TO USE A SLEEPING BAG?
Hostel Bulwark has bed linen suitable for your stay. Sheets and a Nordic cover in anti-allergic material are waiting for you, to give you a peaceful night’s rest.
The mattress consists of a 30 kg thick polyurethane foam plate + 3 cm latex + 4 cm viscoelastic. It has an inner layer and an outer layer, which can be removed for washing. The fabric has an effective and ecological antibacterial treatment. The cushions have a 100% stretch aloe vera outer fabric and the inside consists of polyester and polyurethane.
DO YOU HAVE LAUNDRY?
We have a washing machine and a dryer administered by the employee between 3pm am and 9pm. Washing will have the cost of 3,00 € VAT included, drying will have the cost of 3,00 € VAT included and both washing and drying a cost of 5,00 € VAT included. (Terms and Conditions).
ARE TOWELS PROVIDED?
Yes. Each guest will be provided with a towel. You can find it in your bed.
When checking out, please leave the towel on your bed hanger.
WHERE CAN I HAVE DINNER?
Bulwark has a kitchen where you can prepare your meal. If you prefer you can try one of the many local restaurants.
CAN I EAT/DRINK IN THE DORMS?
All meals (Dinner or Energizer) must be consumed in the kitchen. It is the responsibility of each guest to keep the space clean.
IS BULWARK A PET FRIENDLY SPACE?
Pets are not allowed in the Hostel facilities.
ARE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED?
Excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed on the Hostel premises.
